Export Granola Notes as Clean Markdown
Your Granola notes are only as useful as the places they can go. Locked inside the app, they cannot join your Obsidian vault, your Notion workspace, or the context window of whatever AI tool you are working with. Clean Markdown, one file per meeting, is the format that gets them there.
TranscriptExporter for Granola is a Chrome extension that exports every meeting through Granola's official API - AI notes and the full transcript together in the same file, as Markdown, plain text, or JSON. $29 once, lifetime license.
From Granola to your tools, in three steps
Create a Granola API key
API keys come with Granola Business ($14 per user per month) and Enterprise plans. Generate one in your Granola settings.
Install and connect
Install TranscriptExporter, activate your license, and paste the key. The docs cover every step with screenshots.
Export as Markdown
Every meeting with a finished AI summary becomes its own .md file: headings, bullets, and structure preserved, transcript included below the notes. Files save straight from Granola to your computer.
Where the Markdown goes
Obsidian: drop the files into your vault and they are instantly first-class notes - backlinkable, graph-visible, searchable. A folder of meetings becomes a knowledge base with zero conversion work.
Notion: Notion imports Markdown natively. Each meeting arrives as its own page with the formatting intact, ready to file into your client or project databases.
AI tools: Markdown is the lingua franca of AI context. Paste a meeting into a chat, point a coding agent at the folder, or build a retrieval pipeline over months of meetings - the files are clean input, not a scraped mess.
Notes and transcript, one file
Each export pairs the AI summary with the verbatim transcript in the same document. When the summary raises a question, the answer is a scroll away, not a separate export away. Prefer structured data? Choose JSON instead and get the same content as machine-readable fields.

Does the Markdown keep Granola's formatting?
Yes. Headings, bullet points, and structure come through as real Markdown elements, so the file reads the way the note looked in Granola.
Can I export to Obsidian directly?
Export the Markdown files to (or move them into) your vault folder and Obsidian picks them up immediately. No plugin or conversion step needed.
Which meetings are included?
Every meeting with a finished AI summary. A meeting still processing is skipped on that run and included the next time you export.
Does anything pass through your servers?
No. The extension calls Granola's API from your browser and writes the files directly to your computer. Your notes never touch our infrastructure.
