Granola's Export Was Not Built for Backups

Granola's native export produces a single CSV file, at most once every 24 hours, sent by email with a download link that expires in 24 hours. Miss the window, start over tomorrow.

Create a Granola API Key

In the Granola desktop app, open Settings, then Connectors, then API keys. Your key decides what you can export: your own notes, or everything your workspace can see.

Pick Filters and Formats

Filter by dates, folders, or keywords. Choose TXT, Markdown, JSON, or CSV, and exactly what each file should include.

Export in the Background

Click export and keep working. A ZIP lands in your downloads with every meeting as its own file, plus a README.pdf index.

What You Need

  • A Granola Business or Enterprise plan. Those are the plans where Granola offers API keys, and the extension connects with your key.
  • Google Chrome. TranscriptExporter is a Chrome extension.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about bulk exporting Granola notes and transcripts

Does it work on the free Granola plan?

No. The extension connects through a Granola API key, and Granola only offers API keys on its Business and Enterprise plans. If your workspace is on either one, you can create a key in the desktop app under Settings, then Connectors, then API keys.

Do you see my data?

No. Your API key is stored by the extension on your own device, and your files download directly from Granola to your computer. Your notes and transcripts never pass through our servers.

Can I export my whole team's meetings?

Yes. Create an API key with the Public notes scope, or use a workspace key, and the extension can export everything your workspace can see. Granola's built-in export cannot do this: by Granola's own documentation, workspace admins cannot export other members' notes.

What about meetings that are still processing?

A meeting becomes exportable once Granola has finished its AI summary. If a meeting just ended, give it a few minutes and run the export again.

What exactly is in each file?

A metadata header with the title, date, and attendees, then Granola's AI notes, then the full transcript with timestamps, exactly as Granola stores them. Speaker labels show exactly what Granola knows: real names when Granola identified the speaker, and clear labels like "Speaker A" or "Other participant" when it did not.
