Fathom Transcripts for Recruiters
A busy recruiter runs hundreds of screens a year. Each one is full of detail that matters later: actual experience versus the resume, comp expectations, notice periods, why they're really leaving. Fathom records all of it. But try finding "that candidate three months ago who'd done a Workday migration" by clicking through meetings one at a time.
Recruiters use TranscriptExporter to pull interview transcripts out of Fathom in bulk and make them searchable: by candidate, by role, by any phrase anyone said.
What talent teams do with the export
Submission notes from verbatim quotes
A candidate write-up that quotes the candidate directly beats one reconstructed from memory. Export the screen, drop it into ChatGPT or Claude, and generate the submission summary in two minutes, grounded in what was actually said.
Searchable candidate history
With your transcripts exported as text files, finding every candidate who mentioned a specific skill, tool, or company is a text search instead of an archaeology project. Past silver-medalists become a sourcing channel again.
ATS records that hold up
Attach the exported transcript to the candidate record in your ATS. Handoffs to colleagues and hiring managers stop being a game of telephone, and the record survives even if your team changes note-taking tools next year (see who controls your meeting history).
Dispute protection on placements
When a placement goes sideways, the verbatim record of what the candidate said about experience and expectations, and what the client said about the role, settles "who said what" cleanly. You can only produce it if you exported it.
The 10-minute setup
- Install the extension and connect Fathom ($29, one time).
- Bulk export your interview history: filter by attendee for one candidate, by keyword for one role, or export everything.
- Keep it current automatically with Pro auto-sync to Drive or Dropbox, or re-export weekly.
Common questions
What about candidate privacy?
Exported transcripts contain personal information, so store them with the same care as your ATS data and follow your firm's consent and retention practices. The extension downloads directly from Fathom to your machine; transcript content never touches our servers.
Can the whole team use one license?
A license covers up to 3 devices for one Fathom account. Teammates with their own Fathom accounts need their own licenses so each person exports their own interviews.
We have thousands of interviews. Can someone analyze them for us?
Yes. Our done-for-you analysis service processes your full interview library and delivers written reports: what your best screens have in common, where candidates drop out, and the questions that actually predict placements.
